Gareth Bale scored but his Welsh side missed out on promotion to League A following a 2-1 defeat in Cardiff to Denmark.

A win for Wales, who were on 6 points from 3 games going into the fixture, would’ve seen them promoted, but they lost in front of a 32,354 strong crowd as goals from Nicolai Jorgensen and Martin Braithwaite gave the Danes victory. Bale scored a late goal to set up a tense finale, but the Danes held on to complete a home and away set over Ryan Giggs’ men, having beaten them 2-0 in Aarhus back in September.

Denmark will finish off against the Republic of Ireland, who will be relegated to Group C- the game is of no real consequence for either side.
