Real Madrid held by Levante, Bale plays 60 minutes

Gareth Bale played for a little over an hour as Real Madrid were held by Levante in their league clash over the weekend.

Bale came on as a substitute for Karim Benzema in the 28th minute of the game. Levante took the lead at the Bernabeu through Ivi Lopez’s 12th minute strike before Lucas levelled up things in the 36th minute. Marcelo was sent off late in the game.

The 1-1 result means that Real are yet to win a home league game this season (following the draw against Valencia before the international break). Zinedine Zidane’s side have 5 points from 3 games (the same as Levante, but ahead of the latter on goal difference.

Real’s next assignment will be in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
