Gareth Bale pens extension to Real Madrid contract

Gareth Bale has inked an extension to his contract at Real Madrid which will see him stay at the Bernabeu till 30th June, 2022.

The superstar has reportedly inked a deal that will see him earn £600,000 a week (effectively £350,000 a week) after tax. Including bonuses, his earnings will be reportedly worth £150m over the next six years.

Bale’s buyout clause will be 1 billion euros. His previous deal (inked in 2013) was till 2019. He joined Real Madrid for a then world record fee of £85m.

Gareth Bale scored his first Champions League goal since December 2014 as Real Madrid followed up their 6-1 win over Betis with a 5-1 triumph over Polish opponents Legia Warsaw at the Bernabeu. Bale’s goal v Legia was Real’s first of the game and was scored in the 16th minute.
