The result was Real’s first league defeat of the season and Los Rojiblancos picked up the win thanks to a double from Andre Silva, the Portuguese forward who moved on loan to the Andalusian outfit from AC Milan in the summer.

Gareth Bale played the full 90 minutes in the league for the first time this season under Lopetegui.

Fortunately for Real, Barcelona also suffered defeat away at Leganes, the first time since 2015 that both teams have lost in the same round of the league.

Real’s next game is a home fixture against Atleti.
